Meet Makayla. She is her mother’s miracle baby!

Her mother shared her heartwarming story with us, “Makayla is my miracle baby. I had two pregnancies before her but lost both pregnancies due to complications. Makayla, being my third pregnancy, was the vital pregnancy.

Makayla was born a month early at five pounds and lost a full pound after one day. Unfortunately, I was unable to breastfeed her due to my blood pressure medication. I was desperately attempting to find the right formula for her. She was struggling with spit up, horrific breakouts, constipation and colic. That’s not the only reason why Makayla is my little miracle. On March 26, 2018, Makayla and I were on our way to meet my husband. While I was driving, we were unfortunately hit by an eighteen-wheeler. EMS, the towing company and insurance reps I spoke with could not believe Makayla and I survived.

Thankfully, nothing happened to Makayla. I, on the other hand, suffered two broken arms, seven broken ribs, a fractured pelvis and my two lungs collapsed.

The only reason I am still alive today is because of Makayla’s cry, which kept me conscious till I arrived at the hospital.

According to the doctors, I died for two minutes before they were able to revive me. I had two surgeries performed on both arms and then was hospitalized for three weeks. Thankfully, I am walking again, and people cannot believe the progress I am making. My daughter has been my inspiration and is the reason I’ve progressed so quickly. As a mother, I want to hold my daughter again. For this reason, I want to do everything to the best of my abilities for my daughter.
