Helps Prevent Dehydration!
Nutritionally Comparable to Pedialyte®
PediaVance® Electrolyte is scientifically formulated to prevent or treat dehydration just like the leading brands; however, PediaVance® is made with organic ingredients. This means parents can avoid giving their children artificial sweeteners, colors and flavors while treating the effects of their child’s illness or preventing dehydration that may be caused by sports activities. PediaVance® special formulation is made with natural flavors and contains organic white grape juice, which is a well tolerated juice for children recovering from diarrhea.
Electrolyte Solution is Scientifically Balanced
When prepared according to label instructions, PediaVance® contains appropriate levels of electrolytes, water and carbohydrates to maintain proper hydration. Electrolytes are mineral substances (sodium, potassium, and chloride) that conduct electrical currents in the body and maintain tissue fluids. The balance of the electrolytes in our bodies is essential for the normal functioning of body cells such as the nervous system and the body's organs. Electrolytes are needed to prevent dehydration that may be caused by diarrhea, vomiting, fever or heat exhaustion. Giving pure water is not the best way to restore body fluid levels because it dilutes the minerals inside the body’s cells and interferes with their chemical and electrical functions. PediaVance® Electrolyte promotes fluid absorption more effectively than household beverages. Common beverages (water, tea, juice, sport and soft drinks) do not contain balanced levels of essential minerals necessary in maintaining hydration. Also, sugary drinks can worsen diarrhea and/or dehydration symptoms.
Dehydration Caused by Diarrhea & Vomiting
Viral or bacterial illness may develop over a period of hours or it may suddenly start with stomach cramps, vomiting, or diarrhea. Dehydration can become a serious complication of illnesses such as flu, food poisoning, rotavirus, viral gastroenteritis, or the Norovirus, including the Norwalk virus. With the onset of diarrhea or vomiting, a child may need PediaVance® to keep the body hydrated with the electrolytes that are critical to human health.
Heat Exhaustion Leads to Dehydration
Heat exhaustion can lead to serious illnesses for children and adults due to dehydration. Children are most vulnerable to heat exhaustion when exposed to high temperatures or fever over several days or as a result of high activity in the sun. Parents should be most watchful for dehydration in children participating in sport activities and particularly if the child experiences vomiting along with high levels of physical exertion. Warning signs of heat exhaustion include heavy sweating, paleness, muscle cramps, tiredness, weakness, dizziness, headache, nausea or vomiting and fainting. PediaVance®will help prevent dehydration by replacing the electrolytes lost during extended periods of fever or when body temperatures rise due to over exertion.
