*Recommended Daily Intake for infants ages 7 to 12 months
Your Baby is ready for cereal and other solid foods when:
•Your baby can sit up on his or her own
•Your baby uses a hand to scoop up or use fingers to pick up and hold the food
•Your baby starts to bring his or her hand to mouth
•Your baby no longer shows tongue thrust where food is pushed out of the mouth with the tongue
Start first with an iron rich food like baby cereal mixed with formula*
•Breast fed babies deplete their body's iron by 6 months of age through rapid development.
•Iron-rich foods help to maintain healthy levels of iron preventing iron deficiency anemia. Effects of iron deficiency cannot be reversed even after proper levels are restored.
Try one tablespoon of Baby's Only® Quinoa and Oat Cereal over 3 days
•One small serving helps baby to adjust to being fed a solid food by using his/her hand or by spoon
•Wait 3 days before introducing another new food to make sure baby does not have any intolerances or allergies to the food
Start adding new foods
•It doesn't matter which healthy food item you choose as your next choice.
•Choose from meat, veggies, fruits, pasta, crackers, bread, or cooked dried beans
•Try small soft pieces of fruit or veggies like banana or cooked carrots*Baby's Only® Quinoa and Oat Cereal is not fortified with iron but does contain naturally occurring 0.5 milligrams of iron per serving. Mix Baby's Only® Quinoa and Oat Cereal with one scoop of Baby's Only Organic® Pea Protein Formula providing 10% of the Recommended Daily Intake for infants ages 7 to 12 months.
